1912 - The People's Store Ltd. will open Monday under the management of Ben Guerrero. There will be a formal opening in the evening with ice cream will be passed out and a concert given.

1937 - Mr. and Mrs. Harold F. Rice entertained at their home in Maluhia after the polo game on Monday. About 60 or 70 guests wended their way up to Makawao to enjoy a buffet dinner and dance. Among many special guests were Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Buddy) Rogers.
