FORT JACKSON, S.C. - Private Jandy Villaren of Waiehu recently completed the eight-week U.S. Army basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C., and three-week airborne school at Fort Benning, Ga.
Villaren is a 2011 graduate of Valley Oaks Charter School in Tehachapi, Calif.
She is the daughter of Michael Villaren of Waiehu and Charlene Relyea of Tehachapi.
