It does a body good

August 2, 2012
The Maui News
Kihei’s Marissa Petsas body surfs a wave at Makena’s Oneloa “Big” Beach early Wednesday morning. “It’s just a good, healthy way to start my day,” she said. Petsas said that she works out to stay in shape for her job as a professional hula dancer at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa and also as preparation for entering the Miss Hawaii USA pageant in October on Oahu. The current south swell will gradually diminish through Friday, the National Weather Service said Wednesday. The trade winds will gradually decrease today, resulting in a drop in wind wave heights along east-facing shores. No other significant swells are expected. A small-craft advisory remains in effect in windy areas around Maui and the Big Island.
