Isagawa tied for lead at state stroke play
KAILUA, Oahu - Cassy Isagawa, a 2011 Baldwin High School graduate and first-team Golfweek All-American as a freshman at Oregon, is tied for the lead going into today's final round of the Hawaii State Women's Stroke Play Championship at Mid-Pacific Country Club.
Isagawa shot a 73 in Wednesday's second round to stand at 1-under-par 143, tied with Nicole Sakamoto. Cyd Okino and Kelli Oride are tied for third at 148.
The final round is today.
Isagawa won the Hawaii State Women's Match Play Championship last month at the Oahu Country Club.

Larsen advances at U.S. Open of Surfing
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - Maui's Granger Larsen placed second in his round-of-48 heat at the U.S. Open of Surfing on Wednesday, advancing to the next round at Huntington Beach Pier.
Larsen had a two-wave score of 12.66, edging Brazil's Heitor Alves (12.26) and Thiago Camarao (11.10) for second place - the top two finishers in each heat advanced. Brazil's Adriano de Souza won the heat with a 15.50.
The competition continues today.

Women's basketball league accepting teams
WAILUKU - The Central Maui Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting teams for its upcoming women's basketball league.
The league is scheduled to start Aug. 21.
