HONOLULU - A Honolulu businesswoman whose previous company owes millions in back taxes has opened a beach weddings business.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported Wednesday business registration records show Carolyn de Harne registered Oahu Beach Wedding Packages.

Last month, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said her previous business, Hawaii Healthcare Professionals, Inc., was ordered to pay more than $193,000 to settle an age discrimination lawsuit.

According to the state, that business also known as Hawaii Professional HomeCare Services Inc., owes more than $5 million in federal and state taxes. Former employees have filed complaints seeking back wages.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission says de Harne has been tough to track down and the agency will make sure to collect what she owes.
