Douglas “Hama” Hamamoto, 88

Douglas Hamamoto, 88, of Kualapuu, Molokai, died on July 22, 2012, in Wailea, Maui, HI.

Moloka'i visitation will be at Lanikeha Recreational Center, Hoolehua, Molokai, on August 13, 2012, 4:00pm, with services at 5:00pm. Honolulu visitation will be at Hosoi Garden Mortuary on August 20, 2012 at 5:00pm, with services at 6:00pm. Family requests casual attire, and no flowers, please.

Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.

Mr. Hamamoto was born in Koloa, Kauai, HI on October 20, 1923. He was a retired welder for Del Monte Corporation.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Betty Hotema Hamamoto.

He is survived by his daughters Gail (Dean) Bierbaum, Phyllis Ann (Michael) Sone, Faye (Maurice) Eum, Karen (Lance) Arakaki; brother Choko (Florence) Hamamoto; sister Misao Reyes; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.

"Hama", as he was known to family and friends, was a combat veteran of the 442nd Regiment, Company I.
