Special memories on special vacation

Robert Martinez of Upland, Calif., teaches his son to surf Thursday afternoon at Launiupoko Beach Park. Martinez said it was the last day of a special vacation on the Valley Isle. “Oh, we love it,” he said. “Maui no ka oi. We’re leaving tomorrow, and we’re going to miss it.”
