I first meet Netra Halperin when I became involved in the foreclosure issues facing South Maui and Hawaii. Netra had the courage to take action against the big Mainland banking lobby. Not only did she stand up to them, she reported her experience to Abigail Field who brought it to the nation's attention by publishing an article in The Daily Finance. Netra is willing to walk the talk when it comes to standing up to corporations with the deepest pockets to protect the people of South Maui. This is a courageous and rare quality in politicians.
