So the saga continues, destroyed or stolen campaign signs that speak volumes that whoever is doing it to Alan Fukuyama just don't get it. It is not only un-American; suppression of free speech; but it disrespects him and his supporters. The sorry thing is it occurs in dark of night so they can't be outed.
Who are these people that engage in such despicable acts? Are they desperate? Or is it their way of squelching the competition? Whatever the motivation, it is not the Maui way of campaigning. It is foreign to the idea or values of fair play.
To engage in the political process is to respect the competition, not to destroy or steal their freedom of speech. These acts do not level the playing field.
For every sign, for every banner that is destroyed, Alan's supporters are more than willing to help defray the cost, and we will continue to notify the public of these acts of hate.
