FIRST PHOTO: Kimberlie Miyamoto hits out of a sand trap onto the green during the first round of the Maui Women's Golf Invitational on Saturday at Kahili Golf Course. Miyamoto finished the round with a 71, tied for the best gross score with Anna Jang. Desiree Ting was another shot back. The final round is today at the King Kamehameha Golf Club.
SECOND PHOTO: Alex Chiarella reacts after hitting off the tee at the first hole to kick off his first round of the Maui Open on Saturday at The Dunes at Maui Lani. Chiarella went on to fire a 66 for a one-shot lead over Max Bonk. Jake Grodzinsky and Sean Maekawa were four back, while defending champion Sam Cyr shot a 71. The final round is today at the Dunes.
