Let's face the facts: In today's competitive job market, the most important tool at the disposal of our youth is education. If you want to live a good life, if you want to succeed at anything at all, you need a good foundation for the rest of your life.
Mufi Hannemann wants to help give our youth that necessary foundation. He's been pretty clear in his TV ads that he wants to give every child a chance at a future worth living, and he's willing to go the distance to make that a possibility.
I'm just another teenager in Maui's public school system, but even I can see that it needs a major overhaul. Mufi wants to try and make it better, and I say let's give him a chance to do that. He's been in politics longer than I've been alive, and I think he has the experience necessary to make a difference.
We hear about all the friends he's made in Congress, and I think it's time for him to use those friendships for the benefit of Maui. Our voice needs to be heard.
