I don't understand why one of the top money grabbers in the Congressional 2nd District race, Tulsi Gabbard, believes she can snowball us into thinking that pay to play isn't happening and that she is not part of the game.
If you look through her Federal Election Commission Report of Receipts and Disbursements, you will notice what I'm talking about. I see lots of unemployed and retirees donating upward of $2,500 each. This seems fishy to me. In addition, she has PACs that are pumping thousands of dollars into her campaign.
Gabbard has raised more than $850,000 but she still sends endless emails begging for money. According to the records, she still has more than $500K in her campaign.
Why does she need so much money? We need to stop voting for people who can buy their seats. We need to vote for someone who can really feel what it's like to work for a living.
I have asked Gabbard supporters for reasons on why they are backing her, and all I hear is "Do the math; she has the money to beat (Mufi) Hannemann."
I find it interesting that the Democrats are willing to look the other way and forget this was the same woman who was against the morning-after pill for rape victims and who worked side by side with her father to try kill the civil unions bill.
Although Gabbard claims to be a progressive Democrat, in reality, she is a pay-to-play politician.
