On behalf of the Seabury Hall Memorial 3v3 Soccer Tournament held June 30-July 1 at Seabury Hall, I would like to thank our generous sponsors for their support in making this a fun and successful event. All proceeds went to support of the family of the late Mike Russell. Mahalo to Seabury Hall, Kent Smith ohana, Maui Tropix (Martin ohana), Pepsi Co. (David Yoshioka), Haiku Grocery (Nakagawa ohana), Hanzawa Store (Sue and Dana Klingman), Honolua Surf, Subway (Robin Kean), Hi Tech Surf Sports (Kim Ball), Ohana Futbol Association (Timmy Akina and Dion Ruidas), all of the volunteers and volunteer referees. Also a big thanks to Mr. John Plunkett and the grounds staff at Seabury Hall for assistance with setup, field prep and equipment. Mahalo to all!

Mahalo to the 4H groups and their members who volunteered to help make our Kindergarten Camp a success. Fourteen girls from Pilialoha, Maui Girls and the Sapphires 4H groups all banded together to help out with our various stations during the morning event. Thank you all so much!

Thank you also to Lynn Nakamura-Tengan, extension educator from UH-Manoa Cooperative Extension, for allowing us to use Germ City to teach our children how to properly wash their hands.

Thank you to our cafeteria staff, who provided our families with delicious cookies and juice, and to Shanelle Barona, kindergarten teacher; Christine Ortiz, PTSA co-president; and Alyson Danford with Kama'aina Kids, who helped answer questions for our families.

The day was a nice way for our families to meet one another, the incoming kindergartners to meet and play, and for families to get a campus tour.

Mahalo for all your kokua and thank you to our families for attending the event.

Pomaika'i Elementary School would like to thank Lowe's of Kahului for its generous donation of paint and supplies for our school cafeteria. Thanks also to the 14 amazing "Lowe's Heroes" who volunteered their time on Aug. 4 to get the job done alongside a few of our amazing parents and staff. Our cafeteria looks great, and we couldn't have done it without Lowe's!
