KAANAPALI -- The state Land Use Commission granted a motion Friday by opponents of two planned shopping malls in Kihei for a hearing on an "order to show cause."
The hearing date has yet to be scheduled.
At the Royal Lahaina Resort on Friday, commission members heard public testimony and arguments about whether plans for the construction of Eclipse Development's Maui Outlet and Piilani Promenade projects went beyond land-use conditions placed on the development when it was originally approved by the commission in 1995.
