FIRST PHOTO: Takayuki Maganuma of Japan (foreground) and Eric Lau of Oahu ride together on the way to taking the top two spots in Saturday's Cycle to the Sun. Maganuma won the 36-mile race from Paia to the summit of Haleakala, 10,023 feet above sea level, in 2 hours, 54 minutes, 32 seconds. Lau's time was 2:54:58. Trina Van Dyck of Alberta was the women's winner in 3:26:50. The runner-up, Jennifer Burtner of Olympia, Wash., was 6:15 back.
