HONOLULU - Jane Croson had 21 kills and Emily Hartong added 17 as the University of Hawaii women's volleyball team beat Stanford 17-25, 25-23, 25-15, 25-17 on Sunday at the Stan Sheriff Center to claim the Rainbow Wahine Invitational title.
Hartong was named the tournament's most outstanding player, totaling 48 kills in three matches. Croson, who had a .318 hitting percentage on Sunday, and Ali Longo, who had 16 digs against the Cardinal, were named to the all-tournament team as well.
Kalei Adolpho of Molokai had five kills for UH (3-0),
No. 8 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll.
All-tournament pick Carly Wopat had nine kills for sixth-ranked Stanford (2-1), as did Brittany Howard.
St. Mary's defeated Albany 21-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-13 in the first match.
The Cardinal's Karissa Cook, the Gaels' Kristina Graven and the Great Danes' Victoria Stro-ilo were also named to the all-tournament team.
