Rodney "Bismarck" Alcoran, 69, of Holualoa died August 23, 2012 at his home.
Visitation will begin at 7 a.m. Saturday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Kona Ward, with a Funeral Service at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at 12 noon at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
Dodo Mortuary Kona will be assisting with the arrangements.
Mr. Alcoran was born March 12, 1943, in Laupahoehoe. He was a heavy equipment operator for Kohala Sugar Plantation, J.M. Tanaka, Grace Brothers, Goodfellow Bros., Fong, and Volcanite Construction companies.
He is survived by his wife, Matea; son, Bruce (Intania) Alcoran; three daughters, Jennifer (Kapena Kaneshiro) Alcoran, Ronilynn (Corey) Thorell, Pattyann (Michael) Veincent; two hanai daughters, Lilly and Eldayne Barawis; four brothers, Benigno (Kay) Alcoran, Harold (Loretta) Alcoran, Clarence (Ivy) Alcoran, Scott (Pamela) Alcoran; sister, Veronica Schivone; sister-in-law, Angie Alcoran; 16 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.
Mr. Alcoran was a member of the Operator Engineers local union 3, the Visayan Club, Na Kupuna O West Hawaii, and a veteran of the Hawaii National Guard.
