Shopping at Times can help prep teams

Times Supermarkets is conducting a "Shop and Score" program that will help purchase uniforms and equipment for Hawaii high school teams.

Shoppers who buy Kraft Foods products or other participating items through Oct. 9 can designate points for a school. Each school will earn a share

of $250,000 worth of uniforms and equipment, based on the number of points it receives. Additionally, schools can earn points if shoppers open a designated account at American Savings Bank, which will also award $25,000 in scholarships.

Takahashi records ace at Maui Country Club

Joe Takahashi of Haliimaile recorded a hole-in-one at Maui Country Club in Spreckelsville on Tuesday.

Takahashi aced the 105-yard 16th hole with a 7-iron. The shot was witnessed by Don Karimoto, Leroy Rocha, and Sherman Baisa.

Maui High Foundation benefit golf event set

The Maui High Foundation's benefit golf tournament is scheduled for Oct. 6 at Kahili Golf Course in Wailuku, with a 7 a.m. shotgun start.

Entry forms for the four-

person scramble are available at the school's main office in Kahului, and can be downloaded at mauihigh.org.

King Kekaulike seeking golf coaches

King Kekaulike High School is seeking coaches for boys golf and girls golf.

Applications are available at the school's main office in Pukalani, and must be turned in by Sept. 21.
