Each election we (voters, media, editors) all lament the fact that we have negative advertising in our political process. The bad part is that it's obvious that the negative ads work. No advertising campaign would continue if it were unsuccessful.
So, we have politicians being elected by people who are swayed by negative advertising and, per the Aug. 23 editorial, by people who responded to the "Get Out The Vote" drives. Great.
