In a lot of ways, our country is like a football team.
When the offense and defense stop cooperating, the team fails. When the offensive line doesn't block for the backfield, the team fails. When the role players start resenting the higher paid star players, the team fails. When the coaches are constantly arguing with one another, the team fails. When the team fails, the fans, who technically pay the salaries of the coaches and players, stop attending and watching games. When that happens, the small businesses that depend on the success of the team for revenue start to make less money and begin to cut back on expenditures.
The entire community is dependent on the success of the team.
When a team is in this much disarray, the head coach needs to be replaced in order to bring back stability and prosperity. He has created dissension among his coaches, players and fans. Everyone has lost confidence in the head coach, the ultimate leader of the team. The fans are used to being number one. Much sacrifice, tears and, in many cases, blood have been shed to make the team number one.
We deserve success. We need a new head coach.
