It is with much aloha that we acknowledge the continued generosity of the Maui Hotel & Lodging Association and its member agencies for the donation awarded to The Maui Farm Inc. from the proceeds of the 34th annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk, held in May.
We also wish to extend our warmest mahalo to the Bank of Hawaii for partnering in the Charity Walk and providing a substantial contribution to The Maui Farm. We applaud the efforts of Bank of Hawaii's employees in raising funds for the Charity Walk, and we extend sincere thanks to the Bank of Hawaii Foundation for matching those donations to support worthy nonprofit organizations.
Special congratulations to MH&LA for exceeding last year's very impressive results for this important fundraising event - raising more funds per capita and the highest amount in the state for the third year in a row - $613,025! Maui no ka oi! We commend the staff and members of MH&LA, whose efforts each year make such a positive impact in our Maui community.

On behalf of the Lanai High School class of '77, I would like to thank those who attended the 35th class reunion held on Lanai during the weekend of the Pineapple Festival in June.
Much mahalos to Leimomi (Alonzo) Detillion and fellow classmates who helped organize the reunion weekend. Your help in setting up the potluck dinner on Friday, dinner at the Lodge at Koele on Saturday, ordering the class reunion T-shirts, setting up the campus tour and corresponding with fellow classmates is truly appreciated. Mahalo to Jaughn Degamo for a fantastic LHS alumni throwback party. Thanks to Claude Hureta, Darren Lopez, Charley Palumbo and the rest of the band for the fantastic live music. Mahalos to Belinda Nakoa-Patino for the silent auction and those who brought a potluck dish. And thanks to Rowena Preza, who wrote our class "Hi-Lites" newsletter.
I would like to thank Lanai High & Elementary School Principal Mr. Pierce Myers for taking the time out of his busy schedule to give our class a guided tour of the school. We enjoyed walking around the campus and viewing the renovations done in the gym and the upcoming buildings. I am truly grateful for the aloha you have shown our alumni.

Thanks to the team at Monsanto, led by Mike Barlow and John Anderson, who provided a day of community outreach at Hawaiian Homes in Paukukalo. They helped to redo floors and kitchen cabinets for a multigenerational family. The interior work was the second phase of the "A Brush with Kindness" program, which focuses on revitalizing neighborhoods. The first phase, of exterior painting for three days, was done in July by the visiting group Road Less Traveled.
Call today to learn more about how you can apply and be a volunteer .
