Baldwin bowling teams maintain unbeaten marks

The Baldwin High Schools boys and girls bowling teams both remained unbeaten in Maui Interscholastic League matches with 3-0 victories over Maui High on Saturday at the Maui Bowling Center in Wailuku.

The St. Anthony boys defeated Lahainaluna 3-0, and the Lunas were 3-0 winners over the previously unbeaten Trojans in a girls match.

Brooke Higa had a 182 for the Baldwin girls (9-0), Janiesse Palafox had a 180 and Kristen Espania-Kaeo had a 174. The Sabers (2-7) got a 115 from Stephanie Imada and a 113 from Precious Texeira.

In the boys match, Tyler Yamasaki had a 169, Reece Yokote had a 153 and Adam Lau had a 144 as the Bears improved to 9-0. Trent Hori had a 165 for the Sabers (4-5), Codey Kuhaulua had a 146 and Brendon Baker had a 142.

Chaz Fernandez of St. Anthony (5-1) had the best boys score of the day, a 181. Noa Castleton had a 159 and Christian Altura-Taal had a 135. Tyler Ihu's 132 was the top score for the Lahainaluna boys, who fell to 0-6. Royce Rosenthal had a 114 and Jake Ryan a 106.

Terra Miller had a 168 for the Lunas (3-3) in the girls match, Kailiann Tuipolotu had a 129 and Alisha Coston-Chung had a 119. Estelle Rossman had a 141 for the Trojans (3-3), and Selina Williams a 139.
