The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning indicating critical fire weather conditions for Maui County through 6 tonight.
According to the warning, a combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures will create rapid fire growth potential.
The danger mainly affects leeward areas, according to the weather service.
Conditions include east winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph and relative humidity as low as 40 percent.
