Rainbow Wahine rally past Aztecs in four sets

Jane Croson had 21 kills as the University of Hawaii women's volleyball team rallied from a loss in the first set to defeat San Diego State 22-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-15 on Friday night at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.

Emily Hartong posted nine kills and two aces for the ninth-ranked Rainbow Wahine (6-1), playing their opening match of the Verizon Volleyball Challenge. Molokai native Kalei Adolpho added five kills and two blocks, one solo.

Summer Nash led the Aztecs (5-1) with 21 kills.

The match was a homecoming for San Diego State coach Deitre Collins-Parker, who starred for the Rainbow Wahine from 1980 to 1983.

UH plays Idaho today and No. 3 UCLA on Sunday. The Bruins beat the Vandals 25-16, 25-13, 25-13 earlier Friday.
