Framed by trees along Hansen Road, rain showers blanket the central valley Saturday afternoon. For the 24-hour period ending at 8:45 a.m. Sunday, the Waikapu rain gauge logged 0.22 inches of rain. Puu Kukui in the West Maui Mountains watershed had 2.97 inches of rain, according to the National Weather Service. The forecast for today calls for partly sunny skies and scattered showers over windward and mountain areas. High temperatures will range from 84 to 89 degrees with easterly winds, 15 to 20 mph with higher gusts.
