Kaanapali Beach hotels from Kaanapali Point to Whalers Village have taken steps to move their vegetation back to their property lines. Intentionally or not, this is helping the beach from eroding. The sand has a chance to replenish itself.
The reason I bring this up is because the Whalers Village vegetation line is more than halfway to the ocean at either low or high tide. On any swell in the future, water will reach the vegetation line, not giving the beach a chance to replenish, only erode.
Please send in the grounds crew. It should only take one or two days to accomplish this task. I also have a feeling that Whalers Village management would like to be part of the solution, not the problem.
