Shigeo Otake, 82, of Kahului, Maui passed away on August 30, 2012 at Maui Memorial Medical Center.
Private services were held at Kahului Hongwanji Temple.
Nakamura Mortuary assisted with arrangements.
He was born on May 30, 1930, in Makawao, HI.
He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Lillian Otake.
Mr. Otake is survived by his daughter, Pamela (James) Montgomery; son, Glenn (Martha) Otake; daughter, Gayle (Ben) Sarmiento; grandchildren, Scott, Amy, Cody, Kai, Kona, Steven, and Justin; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Harue Kono, Jenny Oka and brother, Michael Otake.
Mr. Otake was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and a Purple Heart recipient. He worked as an electrician at Maui Land and Pineapple Co. His life revolved around his family, and diving for tako. He was so very proud of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved them so much, and would have given them the world.
