Maui police said a woman whose body was found at the bottom of a rocky cliff in the Kipahulu area Sunday morning sustained injuries consistent with a fall.
Lt. Jayson Rego of the Criminal Investigation Division said Monday that police believe that the body is of a 24-year-old Russian national who was last seen Thursday. Alexandra Dunyasheva, also known as Sasha, was reported missing Saturday morning by a friend who resides on the same Kipahulu property.
Rego said police are still investigating the case and are still working on determining a positive identification of the body.
Fire search and rescue and police personnel found the body while conducting a search for the woman where she was last seen.
