Maui High rallies for win over King Kekaulike

The Maui High School girls volleyball rallied from two sets down to beat King Kekaulike 19-25, 18-25, 25-20, 25-19, 15-10 on Tuesday in a Maui Interscholastic League match at the Sabers' gym in Kahului.

Kuulei Wasserman had 12 kills for Maui High (1-1), Sulieti Hifo added 10 and Michelle Weckwerth had eight.

Weckwerth also had three blocks, as did Toa Tongi. Tina Lotulelei had five kills and two blocks. Tongi had four aces, and Mele Enomoto had three, as well as 24 assists.

Angel Vallejo had 12 kills for Na Alii (1-2), Taylor Fernandez had 11 and Pua Borden and Hiilei Mahuka-Kihewa each had seven.

Vallejo also had seven blocks, and Jenna Mauliola had five. Mahuka-Kihewa had five aces, while Vallejo, Kayla Uysegi and Piikea Dudoit each had three. Vallejo had 12 digs, Uysegi had nine, Borden had six and Dudoit had five.

* KS MAUI 3, BALDWIN 1: At Kaulaheanuiokamoku Gym in Pukalani, Anuhea Kaiaokamalie had 15 kills and seven aces as Kamehameha Maui earned its 58th victory in its last 59 league matches, 25-17, 23-25, 25-12, 25-12.

Sienna Davis had 14 kills for the Warriors (3-0), Emma Yen had 11 and Leimana Kane had seven. Shalia Kamakaokalani had 15 digs, Kaiaokamalie had 13, Yen had 12 and Taylor Awai had 11. Bobbi-lin Kalama had five aces and 49 assists. Kane and Raven Poepoe each had two blocks.

The Bears (0-2) got seven kills from Olivia Wallace and six from Pele Buika. Daisy Rano had 14 assists and Tulu Tulenkun had seven.
