Firms vying to erect high-rise
HONOLULU - The state has revealed names of real estate firms vying to erect Hawaii's tallest skyscraper.
The Hawaii Community Development Agency announced Tuesday that affiliates of Forest City Enterprises Inc. and Lend Lease submitted bids for the $500 million project known as 690 Pohukaina.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported that the 650-foot tower would include 300 residential units for sale or rent at prices affordable to Honolulu's workforce earning close to the median income. It will also include 500 market-priced units.
Currently the tallest building is Honolulu's 430-foot First Hawaiian Center.
