The short article in the Sept. 5 paper regarding the Social Security Administration buying 174,000 hollow-point bullets for its 295 gun-carrying agents is exactly what the Sept. 6 editorial is talking about.
Five hundred and ninety bullets for each agent. Wow. Are they planning a war against us or for us?
There is no excuse for allowing a purchase like this under any circumstances. Social Security is to provide additional funds for our retirement. The FBI or local and state police officers can handle crooks.
Is there no one in charge to stop this waste of funds and no one to question decisions like this? No wonder we are so dissatisfied with the government.
Vote out all the incumbents at all levels.
