Thank-You Letters

September 16, 2012
The Maui News

On behalf of the Lions Clubs of Maui, I would like to say mahalo to Pacific Asphalt Maintenance and its company owner Greg Cabanas for graciously allowing employees Bob Weir (company manager/Haleakala Lion) and Benny John Perry to stripe the Cameron Center and the Maui Police Station satellite overflow parking lots on Sept. 8. This lot striping of a 115 stalls is done twice a year as a standard Lions' Zone project. This break from the usual was a welcomed and a generous gift of time, materials and coordination for both the Lions and the Cameron Center. What was completed in an hour would have taken a dozen Lions working half a day. Thank you so much!

Haleakala Lions Club President

Mahalo to UH-Maui Chancellor Clyde Sakamoto for allowing Area 3 Toastmaster clubs to hold their Fall Humorous and Evaluation Contests in the Kalama Building on Sept. 8. Donna Clayton won both contests and will represent the Maui clubs on Oahu Oct. 13 at the Division C competition. Toastmasters International is a not-for-profit organization committed to enhancing one's communication and leadership skills. Again, mahalo Chancellor Sakamoto for your support.

David Kapaku

Maui area Toastmaster clubs governor
