Newspaper fails to report on president’s rise in polls

September 17, 2012
The Maui News

The Sept. 11 Maui News has no mention of the Sept. 10 polls which show President Barack Obama ahead by 6 points.

The Maui News was quick to say Mitt Romney got a bump from the Republican convention, which, in fact, he did not.

Yet when our president gets a significant bump in the polls, which was commented on national news by CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC and even Fox, there was not any mention in our local paper. Why is that? Isn't The Maui News supposed to present the news in a fair and very balanced way? If this was national news seems like the people of Maui should have been informed.

The Maui News continues to show conservative bias, and I, for one, feel that subscribers deserve better from our only paper. The Maui News should report news such as this that gets national exposure as it did.
