Bears beat Sabers in four, enter tie for second place

The Baldwin High School girls volleyball team entered a tie for second place in the Maui Interscholastic League Division I standings Thursday with a 25-18, 25-18, 23-25, 25-20 victory over Maui High at the Bears' gym.

Olivia Wallace had 13 kills for the Bears (2-2), Pele Buika had 10 kills, Taylor Badois had nine kills and three blocks and Gabby Cordoba had eight kills. Tulu Tulenkun had 23 assists, and Mea Stout had 13 digs.

Sulieti Hifo 13 kills and four digs for the Sabers (2-2). Tina Lotulelei had nine kills and both she and Toa Tongi had three aces. Kuulei Wasserman had five kills, Tati Takara had four digs and Mele Enomoto had 23 assists.

Also on Saturday, King Ke-kaulike won 25-15, 25-23, 25-8 over Lahainaluna, improving to 2-3. The Lunas fell to 0-4. Statistics were not available.
