Edwin Isao Tanji, 65, of Kahului, passed away on September 12, 2012, under the care of his family, and hospice.
A Celebration of Life reception will be hosted on Saturday, September 29, from 4 - 6 p.m. at the King Kamehameha Golf Club.
Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.
Mr. Tanji was born on November 8, 1946 in Honolulu, HI.
He was a retired City Editor for the Maui News.
He is survived by his wife, Harolyn Tanji; son, Jonathan Tanji; daughters, Danica (Shawn) Woo and Erin (Francis) Tsang; brothers, Andy (Ginny) Tanji, Sam (Joyce) Tanji and Dan Tanji; and seven grandchildren.
Edwin was a generous man, who enjoyed the ocean, and diving. He was passionate about being a reporter. He loved his wife, his children, and his grandchildren. He found great joy in cooking for them, and in caring for them.
