Support urged for rally to stop cane burning

September 27, 2012
The Maui News

Sick of cane smoke? You probably are, literally. Cane smoke and soot have been shown to cause health problems like asthma and lung disease.

Come out to the stop cane burning sign-waving on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the park-and-ride lot near Mokulele Highway and Dairy Road.

Tell the Department of Health to start protecting our lungs instead of Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Co.'s profits.

For more information and links to make an official smoke exposure report, see stopcaneburning.org.
