Someone put approximately nine ocean buoys in front of Kamaole Beach Parks I, II and III, affecting the pristine ocean view. Do tell me why.
Was it to keep the whales and sharks away from the swimmers? I rather doubt it.
Was it to keep the turtles and fish on the reef? That was not very likely.
I asked a lifeguard and he did not know.
I swam up to one and it read "swim zone." How great, now everyone will think swimming is safe in the area all the time.
I guess there were some surplus funds in the county, and instead of giving the good lifeguards a monetary raise decided to spend it on buoys. I myself have only seen buoys in marinas or on baby beaches. I just thought it was dumb or dumber.
