Politics are full of sound and fury

September 30, 2012
The Maui News

People can be such simple-minded creatures. At election time in America you're required to take a side - Democrat or Republican. No others need apply.

But the ongoing battle between the two authorized parties is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Most of the civilized world views our political system as the beast with two heads. No matter which one you feed, Wall Street (the body) benefits and the people go hungry.

If politicians were diseases, Barack Obama would be psoriasis and pneumonia; Willard Romney would be rare flesh-eating bacteria and pancreatic cancer.

The way I see it, with Barack we have an outside chance of survival for a while. An outside chance.

Sorry, no aloha today, just sad, sorry reality. Good luck with this one, folks.
