Carmen "Hulu" Lindsey is the best candidate for the Maui Office of Hawaiian Affairs trustee seat.
Lindsey did not have a change of heart, as some of the articles have said, but rather a deep love for her people and aina. She realized that, after a few months of working with her OHA colleagues, the work ahead required someone with the willingness to take on the issues facing our people today. Letters from some of her colleagues and constituents agree with this.
I have worked with Lindsey on several occasions in the entertainment industry, including Las Vegas, and she has always exceeded my expectations. She is dependable, reliable, caring and trustworthy. She is well respected in the community as a smart, intelligent, community contributor and strong businesswoman. She is passionate and committed.
Her knowledge in real estate and land management will compliment the OHA organization and contribute to the needs of the people of Hawaii.
She has taken her gifts and knowledge and invested them well into her family and children, one of the measures of her success. We need someone who is after our own interests and Lindsey is that person. We need people like her who take their roles seriously and, in knowing the challenges ahead, are equipped and knowledgeable to handle them.
