MARTY DREAD LIVE AT FIRST FRIDAY

Leylani and Kalisi will open the entertainment lineup at the Maui Thing stage with music from 6 to 7:30 p.m. with Kathy Collins as emcee. Marty Dread will be performing from 8 to 9 p.m. DJ Joel Cortez will spin his magic under the Banyan Tree from 6:15 to 9 p.m. Hawaii steel guitar music by Joel Katz at 33 N. HERITAGE FILM FESTIVAL AT THE MACC

"KoAloha 'Ukulele Story," winner of the Golden Kahuna Award in 2009, is an animated documentary that details the creation of the KoAloha 'Ukulele Company and chronicles the life events of Alvin Okami, an Oahu-based entertainer turned inventor. A Q&A session with the director will follow the screening.
