MIL volleyball: Hana tops Lanai, stays in first

The Hana High School girls volleyball team retained sole possession of first place in the Maui Interscholastic League Division II standings by defeating Lanai 25-10, 25-12, 19-25, 25-15 on Friday in Lanai City.

Pakalana Helekahi-Cass had 12 kills for the Dragons (7-1), and Shalen-Brae Hoopai had 10 kills, six digs and two aces. Jaynalee Hoopai had 19 assists, and Brandy Lecker-Tolentino had five kills and two blocks.

Nalani Plunkett had 10 kills for the Pine Lasses (1-6), and Norlyn Cabonce had 15 assists.

* SEABURY HALL 3, MOLOKAI 0: At Hoolehua, Seabury Hall stayed within a half-game of first place with a 25-20, 25-10, 25-10 victory.

The Spartans (6-1) won a fourth consecutive match. Molokai (4-3) has lost three in a row.
