Wednesday and Thursday-The Beyond the Rainbow Foundation's free Aloha Team Classic Pro-Am Clinic is scheduled for 3-5 p.m. Wednesday at the Kaanapali Golf Courses. Spots are available for 30 youths ages 10-18 to play three holes with an LPGA player. Instruction will also be offered to youths ages 5-9. Oct. 20-The Komen for the Cure Charity Golf Tournament, a fundraiser for the Hawaii affiliate of the organization against breast cancer, is scheduled for Oct. 20 at the Wailea Emerald Course, with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start. The entry fee for the four-person scramble is $150 per person, which also pays for admission to an awards party at Mulligan's on the Blue and eligibility for contests. Nov. 2-The entry deadline for the Maui Aloha Golf Classic is Nov. 2. The tournament is scheduled for Nov. 10-11 at the Wailea Old Blue Golf Course and Waiehu Municipal Golf Course, with a 7 a.m. shotgun start each day. The entry fee is $165, which also pays for use of a golf cart, admission to a pretournament party scheduled for 5 p.m. on Nov. 9 at the Maui Tropical Plantation, an awards luncheon after the event and eligibility for contests. Nov. 3-The sixth annual Filipino Martial Arts Maui Open is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 3 at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa. The registration fee is $30 for one event, and $10 for each additional event. Competition will be offered in padded-stick fighting, empty-hand kumite, submission grappling and multiple forms divisions, and is open to all ages in all styles and schools. Nov. 10 and Dec. 9-Paradise Speedway Maui will host a demolition derby on Nov. 10, and two events on Dec. 9 - a mud-bog race and a rock crawl. For the derby, gates will open at 3:30 p.m., time trials will start at 6 p.m. and the race is to begin at 8 p.m. The mud-bog race will begin at 9 a.m., and the rock crawl will follow.
