After watching the debate between Linda Lingle and Mazie Hirono (The Maui News, Oct. 9), I am shocked that the congresswoman is being taken seriously as a candidate for the U.S. Senate. Compared to Lingle, she delivered a rambling, inarticulate position defined by a glaring lack of factual support. On the other hand, Lingle was well prepared and focused.
Does the electorate really want an amateur with no concrete legislative achievement, or someone like Linda Lingle who embodies what a statesman can be?
Forget party, vote for a professional who can deliver for Hawaii - Linda Lingle.
