Kaniela Ing filed an inaccurate and incomplete campaign spending report, so the state Republican Party filed a complaint.
Then, even knowing that his reports were being scrutinized, Ing filed an inaccurate and incomplete amended report. In his defense, he complained of "excessive reporting requirements that have been challenging" (The Maui News, Oct. 5).
Either Ing is deceitful or not up to the challenge of professional work. In either case, he is clearly not the caliber of person whom we need to represent South Maui in the Legislature. We are just getting to know young Mr. Ing, and it is not reassuring.
