The voter has a clear choice: Free market capitalism (Letters, Oct. 12).
For Dick Cheney and his cohorts, free meant to start a war after lying to the country (weapons of mass destruction), free to squander trillions of dollars and sacrifice thousands of lives.
A July 22 letter writer reminds us, when in doubt, to go to some website and hit B Hussein O's (our president) list of lies. Those websites, from the left or right, are the infallible truth?
Any attempt to share with the fanatically blind ideologue is futile. For example, Detroit/million jobs saved, loans repaid or ahead of schedule. Sadly, when the mind is made up, facts are annoying. Party first and foremost. This distorted allegiance is self-defeating. It breeds intolerance, anger, hate and violence. It's un-American.
Locally, George Fontaine/second term/yes.
One prolific letter writer has called the president a ghost; the first lady a pig; then he advised us all that we should concentrate in matters of substance. Hmmm.
In some circles, this president is a communist, a socialist, a Marxist, a Muslim, a foreigner, the anti-Christ, a hater of whites.
I wonder who the following groups/individuals will be voting for: Ku Klux Klan, Aryan Nation, white supremacists, apocalyptic Christians, truthers/birthers, neo-Nazis, homophobes, haters, the nonaddictive tobacco chief executive officers, Wall Street CEOs, the likes of Jack Abramoff and Bernie Madoff, etc.
Clear choice indeed.
