* The Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa has named Leslie Barayuga sous-chef of the property's dining establishments.
He will oversee culinary operations with the resort's Executive Chef Greg Gaspar.
Barayuga previously worked in the local food and beverage industry at Japengo at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa, Makena Beach & Golf Resort, Stillwell's Bakery & Cafe and the King Kamehemeha Golf Club.
* Rick Cowan has joined the Kitchen and Bath design team at Ceramic Tile Plus and Exclusively Yours Design in Kahului.
Cowan has been in the local construction and design industry for more than 20 years, most recently at Archipelago Maui.
He holds credentials in certified kitchen design from the National Kitchen and Bath Association.
