An Oct. 20 letter writer states that President Barack Obama shows no respect for soldiers. I don't agree with that statement. The president's budget for 2013 increased funding for veterans to $140 billion. That's more than six times what President Ronald Reagan had in his 1981 budget for the VA.
I think supporting our servicemen and -women and their families is the true test of respect. And yes, I am a veteran.
