With Rep. George Fontaine in office, South Maui is making tremendous progress toward construction of a Kihei high school. In the last 10 months, land has been purchased, a preliminary environmental impact statement has been written and, just last month, the final EIS was released to the public.
Kihei high school matters to South Maui but also to the Baldwin and Maui high school communities, which already face overcrowding issues.
Fontaine's decades of public service, his deep roots in the community and the respect he has earned in the Capitol position him well to see this project through.
Don't change horses midstream.
