This time of year everything is about politics, even when it comes to Honolua.
I mentioned I am voting for Angus McKelvey (Letters, Oct. 27) because of his active attempts to secure state and federal funds for Honolua.
To get the federal funds, we need to keep Sen. Daniel Inouye as the chairman of the Appropriations Committee in the Senate, so we have to keep Democrats in control of the Senate, so I am also voting for Mazie Hirono for Senate.
Mitt Romney will cut everything, so I am also voting for President Barack Obama. (Remember, John McCain kept making fun of "$300,000 for the Polynesian Voyaging Society out in Hawaii.") The Republicans will surely reject a request for millions for Honolua.
No matter what your cause or who is your candidate, please get out and vote.
