What has happened to society these days? A resident parks in an unassigned parking stall to unload some groceries and he's threatened with an AR-15 assault rifle for this (The Maui News, Oct. 19)? While the assailant's 81-year-old mother is in the car no less.
It used to be someone might stop and help that person unload his groceries, maybe talk story for a bit. Now it's anger and confrontation instead of aloha and acceptance. Shame.
Come back, Maui, the way it used to be.
